Miller honestly isn't that good (Max potential is a middle pairing defenseman) and with our defensive prospect pool I wouldn't mind trading him, but if we give him up, we at least hold onto one of those firsts or Buch.

That is definitely not gonna do it.
Gorton is waiting for Eichel's formal trade request & then he'll make an offer. No need to overpay for a guy that probably wont play for that team again but, more than that package.

Youre getting a top top 10 young center with 5 years left on his deal. Miller/Laf, Chytil, Buch/Strome, 2 1sts or a 1 1st and prospect

K'Andre Miller has top pair, shut down LD potential. I don't know what you've been watching.

The Sabres reported ask is what amounts to 4, 1st rounder so former 1st's & 1st RD picks.
So this ask is 5 plus ...

What Eichel brings as a player Is only part of what the return will be for him, its the market for him, who can afford him? who has close to the assets to get him? The fact that the Sabres are in a bad way & rebuilding on the back of what was supposed to already be a rebuild, & Eichel likely wanting to get the hell out of there tells me BUF doesn't get the current ask.

The trade proposal here is not good. I understand they want "4 1st round players/picks." With that said you can easily imply that it has to be quality. Howden sucks he is 4th line at best, does not matter if he was a first round pick. They will want one of Laf/Miller, young established players so Chytil/Buch, and then probably Strome for cap purposes and cuz he is a center back, plus a 1st round pick and another pick/prospect

Oh i agree that deal proposed is awful for Buffalo, that's not my brainchild.

Your deal isn't gonna happen either, NYR aren't giving up 2 or 3 top 6 forwards, a Top 4 Dman & another 1st for a guy that's played 0 playoff games.

I never liked the tick box idea for trade values. I think the ask for ror was a first, good young prospect, a later pick, and an nhl forward. If you check off the boxes- we got the 31st pick of round 1, tage freaking thompson who was the blues 4th best prospect, two horrific cap dumps (one of whom would still be here if he didnt quit hockey), and a 2nd. Its one of the worst trades in the last 25 years, but technically, it checks all of the boxes.
