If this is all it took to guarantee Ladd's disappearance I'd make the trade in a heartbeat

Not sure I'd let go of Erne...he seems to be putting things together pretty well this season. Could be a nice low cost RFA signing. Also not sure about some of those defensive moves. Maybe there's something to Capobianco but he's a huge question mark. Lastly, with Raymond being injured most of the season in the SHL, I wonder if he'll be called up ahead of Berggren after the way he's been lighting up the SHL this year.

Who are you protecting in the ED? I don’t think I’m touching that Ladd contract for that little and Lou would probably LTIRetire him before giving up a haul. Those contracts for Vrana, Bert, and Hronek seem long for what Yzerman just said at the press conference yesterday.

Assuming Lou isn’t already finding a way to sneak Ladd onto Robidas Island, Isles do this trade in a heartbeat.

In my mind, Detroit would compete in about 2-3 years minimum. So signing these guys for less than 5 years, do you really want them to be UFAs when Detroit is trying to compete?

Because they need young defencemen. And they don’t need Levi while Detroit does

Hronek I have no problem with long term. We don’t know how Vrana will play and isn’t known to be effective at both ends of the ice plus he’s been benched by ~5 coaches now. Bertuzzi isn’t going to make or break the rebuild especially if it was a 3 year deal versus 6 plus if we do add pieces like Seider, Raymond, etc. he’d want to be on that team.

They have young defenseman, Juulsen, Nutivaara, Forsling, Priskie, Kiersted, Gildon, Ludvig, Kolyachonok. I understand you can never have enough but rather see what we have first before trading goaltending depth away
