Instead of just saying flames decline, I'll try do what the website is intended for and give feedback and have a conversations.

Lindholm is way too important to the Flames, he's cost controlled, one year older than Oloffson and as of next year Oloffson likely gets paid more. With Lindholm being only one of 2 forwards on the Flames that have a contract past the next two years his 4.5 ish cap hit becomes very important when trying to negotiate with Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Mangiapane etc. If they were to move him I don't think they would allow a team to protect their draft pick cause the Flames would be in full rebuild mode at that point.

I understand what your saying but i, personally, believe flames should go full rebuild, and embrace the suck for a couple years, I'm not to crazy about most of there core. But thanks for the feedback it its helpful

I definitely don't completely disagree with you but they just won't, Markstrom is here for 6 years, they will get their pound of flesh from him for at least three more, Treliving and Sutter both have two more seasons on their deals and neither of them will lead a tank job. I think they have three years to be competitive, once the Lucic deal is gone and you have Backlund, Tanev and Lindholm in the last year of their deals it will be a full sell off and they will be the worst team in the league for a bit.

I feel like thats a pot calling the kettle black statement. As a lot of people feel Buffalo should scorch earth too.

Flames are not in a position to full rebuild, they just spent 10.5M on 2 long term contracts of players over 30. So let's assume a partial rebuild/retool instead. Either way Lindholm will be much more useful to them than Olofsson and the pick (assuming there is obviouslya protectionon the pick). Hes a top line C/RW that ia excellent at both ends of the ice on a long term deal under 5M. That is the kind of player you build around, Kopitar/Bergeron esque.
