Absolutely yes, Doumelin has been injury prone these last 2 years and honestly with how Matheson has been we can move on from him now. Why would u move a 24 year old on a good contract to keep an aging Dman with only 2 years left. Penguins got to start planning for the future and honestly getting younger is not a bad thing.

    Dcore I see

    Matheson-Letang
    Petterson-Marino
POJ-Ceci or whoever Penguins bring in

Dumo is a legit #2, giving him to Seattle would be insane

Pettersson isn't even half the player

Are you sure that you watch them both?

I watch them both and heres the thing. Pet is only 24, Doumelin is 29. Pet has had multiple 20 point seasons with the penguins, Doumelin had one 3 years ago.

Keeping an aging Dman who has been injury prone these last 2 seasons in order to lose a younger Dman who has shown he can play top 4 and has chemistry with Marino is pure insanity. Dumoulin only has 2 years left, Petterson has 3 and will be 27 at the deals end.

Would rather go younger than keep an aging guy as the penguins need to start the process of rebuilding/tooling soon as Crosby and Malkin aint getting any younger.

Mathseon has already played with Letang this season and the pairing did well so losing him wont hurt us especially with the emergence of POJ.

    as said above

So using that same logic, would you also protect Blueger over Malkin

Dumo is a way better player and Pens are in win now mode, so losing Dumo makes zero sense

u cant compare a 4th liner to a 1st liner. I can tell your hockey logic is flawed as Dumo and Pet are 2 top 4 Dman (basically the same thing). Malkin is a top 3 player and Bleuger is a bottom 6, basic 4th liner which are completely different

Also penguins are in win now mode only for this year as per Burke things are changing next season especially with Malkins contract being up.

Keep Pettersson and expose Matheson. Maybe even toss in a sweetener for them to take his contract off our hands.

Or don't send either because the Penguins can protect all three of Letang, Dumoulin, and Pettersson. Marino is exempt and Matheson's contract is basically expansion protection.

Then after the expansion draft, find a team to move Pettersson/Dumoulin to to get actual assets back. Dumoulin will have more value but he also has more value to the Penguins.

Highly doubt Poulin is NHL ready next year. He wasn't close to making the team this year and is basically putting up similar numbers in the Q to what he did three years ago.
