Dillon being selected would be perfect, but I have a feeling it’s going to be Vanecek or Jensen or Schultz.

I think we're going to be in a spot where we have to move out one or both of Kempny and Jensen to resign Sheary and Samsonov to larger contracts than what's projected here. Sheary has been surprisingly amazing for us, so I'd definitely imagine he's getting more than 1.5M. Looks like both Fehervary and Alexeyev are ready for NHL minutes, which should play into the decision to move Kempny if possible.

Not Orlov / Oshie? Think the caps protect those two?
Could certainly see VV / Jensen / Schultz (not disagreeing with you) - just curious to see your thoughts about Orlov and Oshie

Can't lose either of them. It's amazing how much of a night and day difference there is in our team when Oshie is in the lineup compared to out. As bad as that contract might look at the end, he's way too important to our on ice product and culture to let go. Even if we do go through a rebuild during his contract, he'd be a perfect guy to help the transition to the next core and maintain the culture as much as possible. I want to see him play through the contract.

Orlov has just been playing too well to lose for nothing. We can't replicate those minutes with anyone we have now and it doesn't look like there'll be a lot available in the offseason, unless Ekholm becomes available (even then, the price of a trade acquisition + cost of extension is going to be big).

I agree - Osh is a massive fan favorite and I do not want to lose him anyways. Just thought maybe with Mantha trade, Oshie might be more likely to be exposed. But would love if Orlov and Oshie stayed, that is for sure.
