I'm pretty sure the Chicago trade won't stick, but I know a lot about Murphy and less about Timmins.

I feel like the value's about right. Can't say I'm all that interested in Virtanen, but to shed some salary? I'd consider it. Don't know about Calvert though, the guy has serious concussion issues. I feel like the only reason he hasn't thrown in the towel is because they're contenders for the cup

Why would the Hawks do this to upgrade a pick from 6th to 3rd especially considering they have strong prospects/players in Boqvist, Mitchell and Regula on the right? It would take a lot more for the Hawks to consider moving Murphy who's a very solid top 3 shut down defender on a good cap hit.

The VAN trade is kind of interesting. Is Virtanena top 6 forward? If you believe he is it’s a slam dunk move.

Anybody acquired defensively is a 3rd pairing. Byram is already a top 4 guy so I’m more meh about this one.

This is interesting to me as a CHI fan. I like Timmins, maybe more than other CHI fans I guess. I could see this being a TDL move if the hawks are out of it next year, but I'm actually hopeful CHI can extend Murphy.

Since you said the VAN trade is expansion relief for Colorado does that mean that the Timmins trade only happens after expansion?

Who are Seattle taking?

Not a fan of Stepan. McCabe at that price seems solid if we can afford it.

Yeah it would.

Seattle probably gets either Jost or Val here... I'm not exactly sure, but its two eligible guys out and one in.

Vancouver declines. Too much salary coming back and we have enough over paid bottom 6 forwards already.

I think there is 0 chance the Hawks give up Murphy for that little. He has become a leader on that D and with Keith likely gone soon enough, he will become the elder veteran back there with a very young blue line. His advanced stats are way better than his point totals, and if you just watch him play you'll quickly realize he probably is a top 50 defenceman in the NHL right now.

Colorado will protect Jost and Nichuskin. Donskoi would be their choice here.

Can Compher be relied on as a 3C? If so then Vancouver would be interested. If he's a winger then he would simply cause more problems.

I think he does a hair better on the wing, but can play center. (Kinda like gaudette)

The biggest issue I see is Johnson still on LTIR when it seems like he'll be back. That makes the Murphy and McCabe deals a big stretch. The Graves trade is okay but I'm not uber big on Virtanen for this team. Would rather get another pick and try to keep Saad.

Last thing is I'd rather just keep Bellemare if they need a 4C. I'm hoping Newhook is in there though.

Don't mean to totally crap on it. It's interesting and different, which is great. There are parts I personally don't care for or think work though.
