I am not giving up that for Eichel! Don't want Duchene and Gaudreau wouldn't resigns seeing as he wants to return to his hometown team in a year+. Getzlaf won't leave Anaheim cause he wants to retire there plus he is too old and slow for our systems.

Even if Eichel did decide he wanted to be traded, Buffalo would not move him prior to the expansion draft. It makes no sense to acquire more assets that need to be protected when you’re just going to lose one of them.

I don't like Eichel the Sabres can flush him down the toilet with their crappy franchise if that is what they think they will get for him. Every GM in the league knows he wants out of Buffalo just like the rest of the players so no one will give them the equivalent of 4 1sts let alone 4 1sts+

Really I believe he said he wanted things to improve that he was sick of losing and wants a chance at a cup right?! Did things improve or get worse this year? Right they got worse the season immediately after he called out the ownership group. Now every other player wants out so bad they waived NTC and NMC to get traded literally anywhere. But yeah don't worry Eichel is perfectly happy!

Name a players that wants things to get worse and wants to lose. Lets take the most cliche generic quote and twist it to fit a narrative. Are you saying players wouldn't waive their NMC to go to a contender in the final year of their contract?? What?

Has Matthew's publicly said he wants things to change now? Has he said he is tired of not making the playoffs for 9 straight years? Has Matthew's said if things don't change he will have to consider all his options? Right that would be a NO to all of those questions but you know who has said all those thing publically? That's right Eichel has. There is one more piece of evidence you are over looking as well. Buffalo was taking calls and considering an Eichel trade. Does a team normally do this with an elite franchise center who is in his prime and under contract for several more years? No they do not. The only way a team considers moving a player of Eichels caliber while in his prime and under contract for 6 more years is if the player requests a trade. Otherwise they immediately make it known that Eichel is not on the market. This did not happen with Buffalo though.

Context matters, when Eichel is literally asked leading questions, what is he supposed to say. Keep willing it to happen though. Adams was not taking calls that is a debunked lie. Adams said people called on him, but hes not shopping him. He said it more than once

What is Eichel supposed to say? Are you serious or is Eichel to dumb to figure out what the standard answer is? The standard answer BTW is "I won't discuss personal or team matters in public" simple as that! If he can't follow a simple script don't have him go out in front of the press.

Edit** Every GM says they are not shopping players because by admitting to shopping players lowers their trade value. Perhaps you should follow hockey a little closer to learn these little intricacies of the sport.
