Buffalo Next Year

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 13, 2021
Published: Apr. 13, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is if Eichel Wants out. Montreal would be a good fit and it would take a kings ransom to get Eichel.

Tampa trade sheds cap (they are WAYYYY over for next year as it currently stands). They give up Cirelli and Johnson as a cap dump and get last years 8th overall pick and a few other picks.

Buffalo's team is much more solid in this version than it is this year. A lot more balanced and they added some very good defensive pieces in Cirelli, Danault, Martinez and Savard.

This is a complete remake of this team but I think it would be a lot more competitive and potentially dooable.

I think they should do everything they can to keep Eichel but if they can't this would be a good consolation.

Thoughts?

That's a lotta cap going Montreal's way. Don't know if they want to swallow that. Instead of making that Tampa trade, wouldn't the Sabres be better to find a 2m 3rd line winger, spend 7.8m on a UFA centre and keep Quinn and the two picks?

Sabres fan are in dream land thinking that’ll be the return. Maybe if he had a few 90-100 point years.

Matter of fact an offer like that gets hung up on without even a response it doesn't deserve one.

Please explain a common sense reason Tampa Bay considers using Cirelli as cap fodder? It would be a biblically moronic decision.
