We need bodies. Fitz is not going to flip all of these for players. If I thought he would I would agree.
    Neal sure
    Kraken IDK think its Johnsson
Van has to be players IMO
    Moore no thx
    Isles no thx
They are not going to spend just for draft capital, if so we'd be doing it the last year or two, their too cheap I think

Interesting... how about I make the deal better for you guys and do the 2021 first, and Caleb Jones for you guys to take Neal?

For me personally I just have no interest in another 2021 1st round pick, it's a weaker draft relative to the ones coming up with limited scouting available and we already have one in the back half of the 1st round. I'd only accept a 2022 1st, would be willing to send back a 3rd or something like that.

    - Neal's buyout results in a $1.9M cap hit
    - $1.9M buys a bottom-6 forward
    - Bottom-6 forwards aren't worth a 1st
    - Edmonton has $26.1M in cap space this summer with a Neal buyout and RFA's signed, they aren't desperate for that $1.9M

    https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/441028

In short, you aren't getting a 1st to take James Neal. Not this year, not next.

Not a big Merkley fan honestly. Hmm.... how to make one work. We could always just buy him out of push comes to shove and we can’t trade him. It was nice discussing with you again! You too @zyyyp. Nice to hear other opinions.

That’s interesting, as I think it would take maybe our late first this year, since it is a weak draft. I was just finding out a way to get rid of his whole cap hit, but we may have to buy him out instead.
