Fringe?......How can you make that comment when the Leafs have Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Foligino, Thornton and Hyman up front and Rielly, Muzzen, Brodie, Holl and Bergosian on back end and then Anderson and Campbell in goal.......and some elite prospects like Robertson, Lilijgren, Sandin and Aminrov with the top coach in Keefe and top GM in the entire NHL in Dubas.

You keep living in the past and are not paying attention to the organization that the Leafs have built to begin their powerhouse years of competing for the Cup.

Because they’ve had that core. They lose in the first round. The leafs scare no one.

The core was very young at the time but now are all starting to hit their peak years in the NHL .......which bodes well for the Leafs and not the rest of the team's in the NHL.

Yes....you are correct......sometimes the only way to learn for young players is through your failures......The Leafs brought in a lot of veterans to help the young core this year in Brodie, Bogosian, Thornton, Simmonds etc.......and team and young core has now committed to playing a team defence game and the results are showing.

But didn’t you say last year they were going to win the cup?
