I like Reinhardt but don’t really see the upgrade other than age with Smith. Reinhardt is definitely a better scorer than Smith; but then you add in Glass and a 1st and 2nd?

Besides Tuch would take that role.

Age is a key factor. Smith is now on the wrong side of 30 (and has apparently struggled this year), it would be future planning since Glass has been a bit less than expected so far.

I would have been more intrigued by this before reinhart moved to center, before mittelstadt proved he could play and also play center and before glass had a down year

I mean he has struggled to score but he hasn't lost his abilities on the PK or just be a solid defensive forward all around. If it was only him to struggle on his line I would say it is him but all of them are having a bit of a meh year.

A 1st and a 2nd added on top seems quite excessive.

This offer doesn’t really help Buffalo at all. Vegas’s picks are always low, Smith is old and declining, and Glass hasn’t had a good year. Add to that that Apslund is playing quite well, why would they give up 2 productive players like this?
