I think it's a bit remarkable how both these guys managed to win a cup with Boston.
Benning is a bit of a bumbling fool but the Canucks team he was given had an out of prime core, one viable prospect and a lot of frustration and anger based on recent post season performances. It has taken quite a bit of time to turn the team around with a good amount of missteps but generally the team is on the right track for tomorrow.
I think Chairelli got too much oversight with his time in Edmonton. He was also the President of Hockey Operations during his tenure as General Manager. I feel like a lot of the good he did during his tenure was based on luck (McDavid, Drai signing) was outweighed by a lot of decisions which felt unconsulted or generally misinformed. I'm not sure he left the team better.
