Schneider is going to be ready by 2022-23. Maybe we’ll flip him and Barron for a 2C to stay under the cap?

the deadline of 22/23 is full of possibilities if we're in the buyers market

True, but I feel like exiling Schneider to the AHL for a second year in a row (after 21/22) is going to harm his trade value. Kinda like how many thought Kravtsov’s value was tarnished after not giving him NHL time in 19/20 for example

admittedly I'm not of the opinion that schneider is the slam dunk defensive dman that some seem to think he is, although I think he has a ton of potential dont get me wrong. the way I see it it's far from a guarantee that nils and jones will step in and perform right away no matter how good they've looked this year and schneider obviously has opportunities in camp to beat them out. I think he also easily gets an opportunity if anyone on the back end misses extended time unless hajek takes major strides, so I doubt he doesnt make his debut at least within this time frame. what I'm more frustrated about like a lot of ranger fans is that reunanen isnt getting more of a look over hajek this year because he has the potential to be a fantastic trade chip down the line with more nhl experience

Over exposure can do that even more though 😕

    Mittelstadt perfect example

Kravstov only had an NHLe of 15 that season and had never played a pro season of more than 50 games I mean a 12 point NHL season for him was very in play

Lots of TOI in the AHL is the way to go ultimately

    Big role, boosted numbers, etc.
