Now let me explain, Seattle makes this pick for a couple reasons:
1. Weber will sell jerseys sorta like Fleury with the Knights
2. If they chose to he can be the captain
3.They will need to hit the cap floor
4. Weber gets paid about 1M a year for the final 4 years of his contract
The 5th and most intresing reason IMO is that if Weber retires early which he most likely will if he keeps up this play it would DESTROY Nashville's cap, I belive it will cost them 6.5M in cap space until his contract runs out BUT if he is with the Preds organization none of that money will count agaisnt the cap, so what seattle could do is trade weber to Nashville and get a decent return. Think of it as Nashville paying Seattle to take on a 6.5M contract for the next 2-3 years! SEA could get alot!

There is no logic go suggest that Seattle will have any problem hitting the floor. They probably don't want Weber's long term cap hit any more than you do.
