Doubt he would even be on the table. Teams don't draft good players just to trade them because other teams want him.

It's funny because they would probably take Taylor Hall for Tkachuk yet JVR has not points than hall.

Young player out of junior playing on the second line with the Flames. Maybe Marner or Nylander would be fair return. Sage you give Leafs fans a bad name by even suggesting the above trade.

I'm a Rangers fan and am just curious as to why JVR + someone is less than half his value? JVR is a top liner and on pace for 30 goals and 70 points. Is it because he was injured last season? Age? Again just am curious.

A lot folks in Leafland go crazy and think any upcoming UFAs have to be traded. Don't know why myself cause every team has UFAs upcoming and the goal of all teams is to make the playoffs and win the Cup.
That being said, Tzachuk is probably too good for the semi rebuilding Flames to give up for 1.5 years of JVR.
Maybe a comparable trade would be Provorov for JVR. Flyers wouldn't do it, unless possibility they need big help at LW, and thought JVR would put them in the Conference Finals.

To answer the question realistically, one of Marner, Matthews or Nylander+. So I could only see Nylander being the one T.O could deal but regardless CGY would just keep Tkachuk unless you over pay. And no one wants to do that.

Why? because he posed a question, open for debate and re-evaluation afterwards? You're right, shame on him for asking such a silly question and not knowing how much Tkachuk is worth.....

Hey Sage, next time make the trade better by over valuing the player calling anyone who doesn't agree with you a loser! You know like a real Leafs fan!

I am too to be honest! I know he plays for Toronto therefore everyone assumes he's a talentless dirt bag that Leafs fans overvalue but in reality he has pretty high value. Now lets not get too carried away either, expecting a blue chip prospect in return might be stretching it IMO but if he were available at the TDL, a 1st rounder not lottery protected or a 1st rounder lottery protected and a decent prospect.
