How is this that much better than what you have now that's one of the worst teams in the league? This looks like a recipie for Eichel requesting a trade

Honestly, getting picks and prospects helps Buffalo. They have 5 years to finally get it right for Eichel.

That is a lot of hoping the young players take a step forward. You can give Dahlin a 2 or 3 year bridge(if it is 2 that lets you use the Okposo money to give Dahlin a raise) and use the cap space to try and help now.

Could also just send him through waivers and if he clears we send him to the AHL and pick up about $1.25 million in cap space.

Bridge Dahlin and you'll save around 3-4 mil in cap. Don't trade for Moore and simply resign McCabe instead of Goligoski. Use that cap space (7 mil) to sign a top 6 winger and good backup. Play Ruots instead of Eakin. Do you even know how BAD Eakin has been? He shouldn't play another game in a Sabres jersey. Bury him and gain the cap space

Unless the goal is what I've been saying all along: get picks for cap dumps, have some vets around while the youth make their mistakes and develop, deal them all at the deadline for small picks, then get your top-6 winger after your youth have finished developing.

That's a bad plan if we want Eichel to stick around.
