I'd be surprised if anyone but WPG comes out of Canada. Watching the North Division as a Sens fan, Winnipeg is the only team who plays like they expect to come out of this division.

I don't watch the North division much but looking at the teams on paper, im taking Toronto. Mainly because of that defense. But the most important thing is how each goalie plays.

Giving up piles of high danger chances is the best way to make it deep in the playoffs. Winnipeg could beat Edmonton but that's about it. A healthy Leafs team will beat them.

U know our captain is injured rn as well right? Our players just move up the depth chart and perform, too bad the leafs cant do that

but honestly the leafs need a goalie.... Campbell's cinderella run is over

That would be a great matchup. I wouldn't mind a Vegas vs TB cup either

You think Campbell will keep up his cinderella run? I don't think he will.

That is what you hope but two games don't end a season. Campbell is fine, Andersen is getting healthy and Rittich is decent as well. Winnipeg is a good team but they are so flawed. If your goalie doesn't steal a game (he didn't last night the Leafs played like crap, it happens) you lose. Next week as long as Matthews (light years better and more important than your captain) is back and healthy. It will be a different story.

So this is now the cap friendly anti leaf rhetoric. All the Leafs success is because of Campbell. It has nothing to do with being a superior defensive team with a terrific offence that has for some reason been terrible on the PP? If this isn't enough proof that 90% of people on here just want to see the Leafs fail and make up any reason why it will happen, nothing will. Leafs are number 1 in their division, the best defensive team in their division, I believe still the best offensive team in their division and have suffered through injuries of their starting goalie and their backup, lost their 3rd string and had to use their 4th strong for 7 or 8 games and missed a handful of games from their best player. Oh yeah and are still 1st in the Division. But it's all because their backup was on a Cinderella run.

If this win this year, all of those fans will say "It doesn't count because the pandemic blah blah blah." Just ridiculous

It's nothing about anti leafs.

Leafs> Jets offense (close)
Leafs > Jets defense
Jets> Leafs goaltending

If Hellebuyck plays amazing, then I think Jets win. If Campbell/Rittich/Andersen plays great, I think Leafs win.

It all comes down to goaltending.

The Jets give up loads of high danger chances. Who do you think wins that over 7 games, a terrific goalie or the best Goal scorer in the game? On top of that the other team doesn't need to get other worldly goaltending, they need to just play their system right and expect adequate goaltending. TO is the worst matchup for Winnipeg. Way too dangerous at 5v5 and too good defensively. Over 7 games in the 2nd round with less PP chances is going to mean more 5v5 and TO is the much better team in that regard.

Even the Leafs upper management doesn’t hold much fate in Campbell if they bring a goalie in, better hope Anderson in back in prime form

Realistically speaking the Jets r 1 top defenceman away from being a legit contender while the Leafs r a top goalie away.... just IMO but a goalie is more important then a defenceman.... pleaz don’t argue Campbell/Anderson....... their rnt in the right tier

As for making excuses “but our players were injured” r hilarious, **** happens what can u do? We lost one of the best players and drivers on our team yet players just moved up the depth chart and performed to fill the hole

I was laughing after the game when I was looking at multiple acticles based around “Leafs without Matthews lost against Jets” completely emphasizing that excuse.. I guess the Leafs can’t do crap without Matthews, guess u gotta go all in the next 4 years

Tell yourself whatever you want man. I have no worries about the Leafs vs the Jets. Give Matthews as many high danger chances as you guys do and he's going to light you up. As he has in many of the games he's played against the Jets this year. By the end of the season it'll be the same as it is with everyone else. TO has a winning record.

Neither do I honestly.. the Jets r better built for the playoffs

Matthews is good no doubt bout that, 4 goals in 6 games vs Jets but not like the Jets r slouches either.. Ehlers got 5 in 7 without those “high danger chances”

So who do you think is going to keep it up then? The guy with an unsustainable shooting percentage the best scorer in the league who gets loads of dangerous looks from your bad defence?
