Why would COL not protect Burakovsky? Don’t say 4-4-1 because Johnson is either waiving or being bought out. COL is 100% going 7-3-1.

I actually had them protecting 3 forwards and 5 def.
I guess the alternative then would be losing Nichushkin?
Unless they traded something to take Compher

F: Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Rust, Tanev, Zucker, Kapanen
D: Letang, Matheson, Dumo

Left choice between McCann and Pettersson?
Maybe Pens make a trade here too?

Hey bud I don't know your level of IQ but there is a specific Seattle expansion draft interactive thus to make it more realistic and prevent less realistic drafts and trades such as this one.

McCann is saved over Tanev. If tanev is still injured he wont be taken, but if not then he wont be taken bc of his contract. They wonttake him if they dont have enough cap space to resign RFA's and UFA's

Yeah no
MacK Rantanen Landeskog Kadri Burakovsky Jost and Nichushkin
Makar Girard Toews
Grubauer

It’s almost a lock Graves, Compher or Donskoi is the pick. COL knows they are losing a good player but that’s it ONE player. COL also won’t be doing any of these stupid trade for less and still lose a player in the XD.

I think they would take Matheson unless they did a goalie here.

I'd think Donskoi there.

Honestly I think if Seattle has to rank them it is Graves, Compher, McDonald, Donskoi. Donskoi is nice, but he is super streaky and plays wing. Graves is a top 4 dman, maybe top pairing on an expansion team, Compher can play center which will be immensely important because there isn’t going to be any 1 or 2C’s exposed that don’t have atrocious contracts (looking right at NAS)

There is a chance that Zucker does not get protected and they protect Blueger instead.

Defense was easy to come by for Vegas so I think Seattle will be a little bit more selective for their D. If they are not really good or have a lot of potential or being paid to select they will probably shy away.

I think Graves may be the best available defenseman in the ED, if it were me he would be my first pick of the defenseman.

Seattle will probably select him or Graves. Avs fans would like Compher but really any of the 3 are goign no matter what.
Losing Donskoi would suck but Newhook and Kaut will be ready to roll next season so they jump up to take the Saad (if they cant sign him) and Donskoi (if selected in the draft) minutes

This all depends on Johnson waiving his NMC, which I doubt he would do.
Last time, Hartnell, Bieska, Girardi, Callahan were all asked to waive. None of them did (Girardi was bought out).

EJ will waive, hes been injured all season. Why would seattle take a 33 year old making 6m who has a long history of injuries. There is no benefit to seattle taking him.
Its already said he would be open to it back in Feb when they were allowed to ask players

Seattle wouldn't take him for nothing.
They would get return via trade.

no one is trading for EJ. Seattle is not going to take a guy that has a better chance of being on LTIR than ready to start the season healthy
especially in a flat cap when hes making 6m

Youre missing the point, Seattle isnt going to take him. Its an empty threat. They arent going to pretend like they will take him for a 3rd round pick, bc there is no chance they would based on his injury. You think they will sabotage their chance of getting a good player to try to leverage a mid round pick out of the avs.
