Description
Jones is the most likely target for Seattle, so I'm turning him into an asset before the expansion draft. Svechnikov might not be the right guy, but he seems to fit the mold of a Holland acquisition. He's a bit raw still and at 24 that's a concern, I think he needs a change of scenery and a bit of rope. Obviously he was a Holland draft pick, so there's a bit of a redemption story here.

This leaves Seattle without an obvious option (if Jones was obvious, I'm not convinced of that). It's anybody's guess who they take, but they could do a lot worse than Kassian IMO. Big, fast, physical with soft hands, he's got great natural talent. He just needs to give a more consistent effort.

I reunited the DYNamite line for obvious reasons. I put McDavid with two big fast trains who can cause chaos all over the ice and turn pucks over. I'm hoping some of Puljujarvi's effort and consistency without the puck will rub off on Svechnikov, and of course playing with McDavid will give him offensive opportunities he's never had before. Can he go from healthy scratch on the league's worst team to top-6 winger to the best player in the world? Probably not, but Holloway is coming up fast - I don't imagine Holloway spends more than a couple of months in Bakersfield unless the players here are firing on all cylinders. Moving Coleman up could work well too - and Benson might get a chance too.

The third line is a brutal shutdown line with some offense. Should take the heat off the top 2 lines somewhat. The fourth can take defensive minutes, play the PK and provide energy at 5v5. Might score a bit, too.

Oh hell yes to seeing Esvech finally given some opportunity I'm still angry and in shock that Detroit waived him while he had 5 points in 10 games

Small sample size but he has a higher career pts/60 than Silfverberg / CDvorak currently: helluva start

Yet another reason why Yzerman is overrated

    Yeah I said it popcorn

    Anyhow

    Nifty AGM overall

Finally a 3rd line that let's them give McDrais like

Possibly 80% ozs for both lines maybe hopefully

    🤩

Kahun as a fixture on the 4th would help that also

No buyouts, either! I actually had bought out Neal, but got the roster more-or-less where I wanted it and still had about $5M in cap space, so I cancelled the buyout and sent him to the minors instead.

Yah I think Neal will just retire if that happens. He might retire anyways. I think he cost 4 million in the minors towards the cap if I remember right? Svechnikov is a guy that I am mad Holland didnt pick up on waivers, I would have taken that chance and sent someone else to Bako. Great job.
