Defence could use some work. At least one top 4 defence man is needed. The goaltending is questionable, because Mrazek is okay, but Sorokin is off to a shaky year. That could hold them back big time. Defence wins championships, so without that one guy they need, I would say with that goaltending first round exits.

I'm wondering what makes you think that Sorokin is having a shaky year? All signs point out he's having a solid rookie season.

Just games he has been playing. He will be hot, then cold game after game. Also, after talking with a isles fan he agrees. He’s having a decent year, but I wouldn’t trust him as the starter. Not nearly as good as Shesterkin so far that’s for sure!

I think it's just harder for him because of the amount of changes taking place on the Islanders roster, and the presence of Varlamov. Shesterkin gets to play on a more regular basis, so it's easier for him to find some consistency.

Maybe you are right... Don’t get me wrong, he’s good, but I don’t think he’s having a solid consistent season. They do like to change their lines, and roster so that’s a possibility!
