Don't mean to alarm you but both Fiala and Meier will cost you a lot more.

I'm more looking at fit-wise for the MIN trade. With Kaprizov and Greenway MIN is kind of stacked on the left side but their middle is weak. Zacha plays C or LW and has the same amount of points as Fiala this year on a weak NJ team (leads the team in points). Also factoring in that Minnesota is going to be a bit tight on the cap and Zacha's hit is significantly less than Fiala will cost with the same RFA protection. Those things, combined with the fact that Zacha is 6'3, made me think that straight up could be a baseline. But I understand that most people probably look at Fiala as a higher ceiling player so I would be willing to add prospects/picks. What would you realistically want added for a Zacha-Fiala trade?

I thought about trying Josi and Neidereitter trades but I decided not to waste my energy lol. Just re-sign Mirco Mueller and call it a good ol' Swiss day.

Anyone but Mueller. He's so bad. He's playing in Sweden now

It's not happening. Wild will let greenway go.

Fiala, & kaprizov are wild superstar wingers

Fiala will cost nico or jack Hughes

Otherwise fiala is pretty much untouchable

I agree Zacha could be a fit in Minnesota don't think Guerin would be willing to move Fiala for him but I've been surprised before. I've never shopped Fiala before so a realistic return I'm not going to be able to give you. Assuming Zacha has finally started to put his talent together I would assume that Wild would ask for Zacha a right shot Wing and a draft pick, but that's just a guess.

Somebody in this thread already said it would take Hischier or Hughes to get Fiala. Radical proposition or not, I think that you'd have to blow Guerin's mind with the offer, otherwise he stays in Minny.

Yeah that sounds fair enough to me. I don't think they should shop Fiala just wonder if they'd be open to moving him if a deal came along that could help them address greater areas of need.

If there's no deal to be made then fair enough but I'm a bit confused about the evaluation of Fiala. I think he's a good player (or else I wouldnt be wanting to trade for him) but he also is tied w Zacha in points and has scored 20 twice so far in his career. Am I missing something? I know he's a good player but that doesnt seem to be in the stratosphere of asking for Hischier or Hughes back. I totally get not being interested in Zacha straight up but I think expecting a #1OA talent in return might overvaluing the home player.

Fiala is a good damn winger wild won't get rid of. When he's on, he's a top winger in NHL.

I agree he's a good winger. I'm fine with the Wild wanting to keep him. He's also 54th in points for NHL wingers this year. That's a decent 2nd liner. You don't get #1OA picks for decent second liners. Period.

The point of asking players like Hughes is not that they are equal in value or skill. It is because we really do not want to give up Fiala, so if NJ really, REALLY wants him, they have to give up a LOT.
