Not a huge fan of the grigorenko signing. I'd rather have LGD back at that price for the 4C. Also I think Vrana either takes a 2 year deal at 4-5 or gets locked up long term.

I'm actually betting that Stecher gets taken by Seattle but I could see Panik going too

Which defensemen do the Wings protect? I know when the season started Stecher was a likely choice to be taken but he is easily Detroit's second best defenseman.

To me, you protect Hronek, Stetcher and Lindstrom. If Seattle takes Cholowski, so be it.

I honestly think our bigger risk, is Smith, Erne Namestikov or Svechnikov. We can realistically only protect 2 of them and if you asked me 2 months ago, Smith and Nemestikov were no brainers, but with the way Erne has been playing and the fact that Yzerman traded for him, I would actually give him the edge on the last protected forward spot. Larkin, Bertuzzi, Vrana, Rasmussen, and Fabbri are locks to be protected and I feel like Yzerman will protect Namestikov.

I think Detroit will leave Neilson and Panik unprotected and I don't see Seattle wanting or taking either of them. Now if you leave Namestikov unprotected I think Seattle takes him it's almost a no brainer.
