Take out everything else from Buffalo (McCabe is a UFA anyways) and it's fair for sure.

Get rid of those draft picks going to LA and add another starter. Like Andreas Athanasiou

I'm not going to argue value but I'm not sure LA and Buf are a fit. I don't think LA is anywhere close to completing a rebuild and Eichel would be a major piece to do so - also, emptying their prospect pool to get him makes no sense to me.

Although, a team going all in for a cup could empty their prospect pool for a chance to win - to me a team like Vegas would be a nice fit. They'd probably be willing to sacrifice a top prospect and 1st round picks to get him and both team would benefit.

Take out Buffalo giving picks, and I'd imagine (depending on where LA picks this here) they'd want the 2021 first. Not terrible though at all, however don't think Kings are a fit rn, although fun to mock, don't know if this makes sense for the kings to do

Why is Buffalo giving away twice as many draft picks as they’re receiving? I’m sorry. Who’s getting the superstar here?

I'm sure they do, but they're not going to decimate their prospect pool to get him.

Not true. Blake was asked last month if they were looking to add players for now because they were doing better than expected this season. He said absolutely not and that they were going to stick with The Plan. The plan is drafting and developing young players and letting them take their time to play their way into the lineup.

I think all the Eichel to LA rumors are BS and that LA has no intention of trading for him at all, because that's exactly what Kings brass has been saying for years. Dreger only said that Eichel to LA "makes sense." Not once did he say that LA is willing to gut their pipeline to trade for Eichel.

I will go so far as to say that Byfield is untouchable. There's a lot of media hype surrounding him in LA already. The Kings won't trade him, even for Eichel.

Of course Blake would say that PUBLICLY, that’s what GMs do

I know FOR A FACT that LA has been calling about Eichel fir about 2yrs now
Idk what they’d give up fir him- AND NEITHER DO YOU- but if they’re calling about him this consistently for this long, then they’re obviously gonna be prepared to offer something VERY SUBSTANTIAL

I have inside info on the situation
If u don’t believe me, or disagree, idc

Of course they've been calling, along with 30 other teams in the league. That's what happens when a top-tier player like Eichel is available. That doesn't mean they're going to pay more than he's worth.

Blake has been very adamant and forthcoming about what this team's needs are. He and Robitaille have been very candid with the fans about The Plan. After several years of seeing Lombardi trade away the future to try and stay relevant (which eventually cost him his job), Blake has absolutely refused to do the same, as Kings fans would turn on him immediately.

I agree that the Kings will make a "VERY SUBSTANTIAL" and appropriate offer for Eichel, but will also be very prepared to walk away if the price isn't right. They've waited 2 years, they're prepared to wait longer if Buffalo's ask is unreasonable (which most of the offers on this site have been thus far). The reported asking price for Eichel is four 1st round picks. Not 3, not 5. I suspect Byfield is untouchable, even in an Eichel trade. There was much hullabaloo about the highest black draftee in NHL history coming to LA, especially while the city was still mourning the death of Kobe Bryant. There's now the PR behind the first all-black line of Byfield, Akil Thomas, and Devante Smith-Pelly playing in the AHL. It seems silly to say this for an 18-year old player, but Byfield has too much history in LA to be traded now.

I think the Kings will resist trading 4 key players from their pipeline: Byfield, Anderson, Bjornfot, and Petersen. Everyone else is on the table. Turcotte and Vilardi both carry significantly more value than a single first round pick, so while I think that one will be the centerpiece of any Eichel trade, I don't think they'll include both. I think one (and only one) 1st round pick will absolutely also be included, and since I don't think any trade will happen prior to the draft, it will likely be a 2022 pick. With the remaining two pieces, I think one will be a prospect yet to play in the NHL, while the other will be a quality young established player. The first group contains guys like ****emo, Kaliyev, ****emo, Faber, and Grans, while the second group is made up of guys like Iafallo, Kempe, and Roy (the roster players on the Kings worth a 1st round pick). I suspect Olli Maatta and/or Jonathan Quick will also be included for cap reasons.

Voices in your head don't count as inside info, no matter how much you want them to.
