Lekhonen would be the guy for me because: He only has 3 goals in 31 games. He doesn't takes shots (only 52 shots this year) and he really isn't better than Caufield and i sent romanov down to give him more ice time and for him to get better for next year

The answer is simple. Waive players the other teams probably wont claim.

Byron and Kulak.

Both these guys are signed for next year and arent important pieces of the team so if they are taken, who cares? It alleviates cap space for next year too which is a bonus and this year, we have depth to replace them.

Habs brought in Gustaffson and Merril who can replace Kulak easily for this year, especially with Chiarot back now. Byron is a good player still but Habs have ample wing depth already.

The answer is simple and yet some make it out to be hard.
