    Scheifele-Wheeler-Lowry-Dubois-Connor-Ehlers-Copp/Appleton.

Why would Seattle, with dozens of good defensemen likely to be available, take Niku who can't crack Winnipeg's defense?

At first glance, Seattle would have more interesting choices at D than at forwards overall

If either Lowry, Appleton or Copp is exposed, I don't see Seattle going for Niku. Who would you expose btw?

I forgot a key detail in that Lowry being signed now means that he needs to be protected. Previously it wasn't a huge worry in seattle, this signing complicates the process.

I would on them exposing Copp. An RFA that close to UFA means he would have been paid big or they’d lose him when his time came. I’d bet they think if it as opening up 3-4 mil in cap they otherwise wouldn’t.

This signing just made the ED a lot more complicated.

    Jets go 7-3-1:

Scheifele, Ehlers, Dubois, Lowry, Connor, Copp, Wheeler/Appleton.

    Morrissey, Pionk, Stanley

    Hellebuyck

Exposed: Wheeler/Appleton, Berdin, DeMelo, Harkins, Beaulieu, Stastny (UFA), Forbort (UFA).

My guess is seattle takes either DeMelo or Berdin. I think regardless of who the Jets protect at F, they’re not selecting a forward. If Jets protect DeMelo over Stanley, I still think they take Stanley or berdin. The only way I see them picking a forward is if Copp is left exposed and they can work out a long term extension. My final guess is they take Berdin.
