How close do you feel Donato for DiPietro would be? Would you consider DiPietro and a 4th or 5th?

Vancouver adds something bigger than the 3rd. Apples has proven himself as a middle sixer and still has yet to hit his ceiling. I like Lind but a 3rd isn’t enough to make up the difference.

Maybe the 2nd and Lind in that trade and then the 3rdand DiPietro in the SJ trade.

Tough to gauge because I don’t know a ton about how DiPietro has been developing as of late (looks like he hasn’t played any AHL games and is on the taxi squad)

So I’m not sure I really know

Why does VAN even consider that deal with the Sharks? Donato isn't anything special, he just another reclamation project just like Virtanen.

Ive always had the feeling that Minnesota doesn't value him much with such limited ice time. He's playing the lowest of his career this year. But hey I agree I think he's a solid young C I'm just not convinced Minnesota sees much in him. Gadjovich has 11 goals in 12 games in the AHL this season. Pretty decent prospect.

Minnesota has started playing him @ his natural c position

Wild do value him. If you aren't playing a 2 way game, & doing too much, the culture under Guerin, & coach means you getting scratch, & getting learning lessons from coaches

Fair enough thanks for the input. If he does fall out of favor there he is a guy I'd love to pick up. I really like his game the limited times I've seen him.

I wouldn't trade Mikey D especially for a guy like Donato. He'll need some more seasoning in the AHL for a couple of more seasons. He'll be a number one in the NHL in the future. Donato's ceiling isn't very high, had some decent stints with MIN and BOS.

Not saying the trade itself is great in value or organizational need for the Canucks, but Donato has 19 points to Virtanen's 4. That's not an apples to apples comparison.
