In terms of potential tho; wouldnt you say guys like

Johnson
Sillinger
Lysell

Be guys who could end up being depth players as they FAIL to reach their POTENTIAL. Those 3 in particular have the potential to be star players/ top 6’ers. Compared to Beniers for example; Johnson is likely the riskier pick as Beniers seems safe. But Johnson has a high potential than Beniers because of the tools/ skill set he has. Beniers would likely safely reach the NHL top6/ middle 6 but Johnson is more of legit top 6 threat who may surmount into nothing but a flash in the pan. But he can also explode and be better than Beniers.

Idk if potential is the best word to use here for the post as I think of most of these players HAVE a high potential but the certainty of reaching those heights is where the issue is.

Guenther - All-star
Sillinger - top-6

Good point should have worded it better.

I don't see this class being very heavy and I also I don't think clarke will fail too hard in the nhl but hey I could be completely wrong lmao.

I really have high expectations for Wallstedt. I feel he could become a top goalie in the league some day.

His WJ performance while short definitely was good hockey to watch. Hopefully we see more of him soon.

I think he has high potential but goalies are tricky like that. One year they can be amazing and look like the next big thing but the next year they suck a good example is Carter Hart.

Clarke is nice if he is your #4 d-man. I don’t think teams will view him as #1. Too many questions.

It’s not a bad draft. 2019 and 2022 will be better, but 2021 and 2020 should be about the same top to bottom. Just may be harder to hit in late picks.

2020 was a pretty good draft imo, loss of potential w pretty much all top 11 picks. 2020 draft>>>>2021 draft imo

If just going top-10 vs top-10 I’d probably agree with that.
But last year had pretty sharp drop-off after top-10 or 15. This year would be better year for second half of 1st round.
