As has been said thousands of times before, Ottawa has no use for Paul Byron. They've plenty of LW options already, and there's just no need to commit that kind of cap to a superfluous player. They really don't need another 3rd round pick that badly either imo.

Can Habs fans please just start buying out Paul Byron instead? Or send him literally anywhere else. It's been like two years of the same friggin trade.

If its a cap dump trade (2yr x $3.4 million) Montreal would have to add a good prospect to the 3rd round pick going to Ottawa. Remember 3 years ago Montreal got Armia (young roster player with upside under team control at the time), 4th and 7th round picks for taking Mason (1yr x $4.1 million). The buyout cost for Byron is more in terms of dollars and years plus the cap environment is more challenging.

As a Habs fan, I feel your pain. I have seen Byron to the Sens over a hundred times! LOL

No teams taking Byron for a 3rd, and your value on some contracts are off..

Contract values are correct, Habs bought out one year of Mason and in my comment they would be buying two years of Byron. You are mistaken. I also said 3rd and a prospect.

You responded to my comment, not the OP. I understand your mistake.

Trade Byron: Damn whoever complains because they clicked on the team, read the team and felt angry enough that they took time out of their day to write about it (instead of having enough impulse control to ignore it)! Trade him for a fourth next time! Piss them off! smile
