Description
I brought Rask back in this AGM, but I don't follow the Bruins much and I'm wondering if he's even needed. My guess would be he's signed after the ED on a one-year deal to protect Vladar, who's projected to be waivers eligible at the beginning of next season.

Okay, lets start off with the goalies. Uhhhh ya they need rask. Double that contract of his, and for gods sake, no, he’s not backing up swayman. That’s utterly an absurd proposition. This is a guy that has the best save percentage IN NHL HISTORY (tied with Hasek)

Ditch the oleksiak signing. Bruins have a ton of LD they trust, which is why they let krug go.

Forward group looks good, though I’d like it if kuraly was back.

Perfect, but he gets more $ if he comes back. Prob 5m. If i’m the front office I would not give him multi year deal as his commitment is iffy. With Swayman’s play I could easily see them walking away from him and signing a Raanta type on a year or 2 at half the cost instead. Will come down to how the season plays out and Rasks desire to play.

Don't see them walking away from Rask. Like you said though, will probably sign one year 5M and split games similar to Halak and Rask.

Agreed, don't see them signing Oleksiak. But I would say they sign a cheaper option. Possibly keep Tinordi around or Miller if healthy at low cost (close to league minimum), just to keep some size.

No. Leave room for the young guys.

Not going to win without size and grit especially on the back end.

Mcavoy, carlo, lauzon, and miller aren’t exactly midgets.

Miller is who I just said to re-sign. Carlo isn't small but doesn't play with the same tenacity or grit. McAvoy typically plays against top lines where it isn't as necessary and Lauzon usually plays with him. Having a third pair of Zboril and Cliffton is very small especially matching up against other teams third and fourth lines.

Clifton is 200 pounds and plays like he’s 230

I think seattle talks to Reilly and trys signing him before taking someone off bostons list. He's not going to cost much and can play top 4 minutes.

They should sign Rask for 2/3 years. Ease Swayman in.

It's possible, but there will be lots of defensemen available. I think Ritchie, if not protected, is a good middle-six option.

I wouldn't offer him such a deal instantly. I'd bring him back one one-year deals with progressively lessened workload.

    At $3 million I’d do multi-year.
There will be adjustment period for Swayman.
    Always is with young goalies.

Ya, i see a 1 year contract and 50/50 split with Swayman if he holds up next year. Then again Rask may call it quits too. And don’t be so sure about them not walking away, they were heavy into trade negotiations with Colorado on him last offseason. They are not as married to him as they say publicly.

Doubt 3, especially when his commitment is questionable.

That’s a non factor. The expansion draft is before free agency. They will take someone from Boston. Free agency opens 5 days after the exp draft.

Seattle can sign any free agent before the exp draft instead of selecting a player from the roster. I dont think its crazy they sign Reilly early.

I stand corrected they can. But it does not appear to be in lieu of a selection.

They have 48 hours before the exp draft to negotiate a contract with any ufa or rfa unprotected. If they come to a contract agreement seattle has to select them. They can't double dip from teams by signing multiple guys or a sign and a selection. Plus if its a rfa teams can't match and keep them.
