I don't think it really fits Calgary's needs. With the way Tanev has been playing and Andersson being locked-in I can't see them having a spot for Risto

Gaudreau isn’t worth what he’ll cost to a team like buffalo because there’s a 0 percent chance he stays after 1 year.

No problem with keeping Eichel but those trades don't go through.

Brutal Calgary trade. 1 year of Gaudreau isn't worth a top 4 D, blue chip prospect, and a 2nd + 3rd

I think the Sabres would be very wise to trade eichel before his NMC kicks in. I really think there’s a good chance that if they keep him until that point, he won’t report, and really force a trade.

Arrtu is not a blue chip prospect. He may end up being a solid middle six forward that offers 30 40 points per year and 10 - 15 goals but that is likely his ceiling. Risto only has 1 year left also. I honestly think there is a better chance that Gaudreau would resign in Buffalo then Risto after what he has been through here.

Explain how... Risto is a top 4 D. Ruots is a blue chip prospect (albeit a 23 year old one)

Even if all that is true....
there’s still little chance Gaudreau stays here

So if you’re gonna trade Risto,
then get a guy that’ll be around for a bit

Ah yes, I seem to speak to Homer Simpson himself. Feel free to ask other fanbases if they think Risto is a top 4 D, if they think Ruots is a blue chip prospect, and if they think Gaudreau is a superstar. I think you are going to get "Yes" "Yes" "Absolutely Not lol" as your respective answers

You cant be serious can you? Do you realize what a blur chip prospect is? It means "of the hoghest quality." As in Byfield, Caufield, Seider, Raymond. Ruotsalainen is like a B+ prospect, so dont go claiming hes going to be elite.

As for the 2 NHL players, your original excuse was "1 year of Gaudreau." Has it even crossed your mind that Risto is also an expiring contract? Iz he a top 4 dman? Sure, would he be top 4 in Calgary? No, so why would they want him.?

To summarize, you based Gaudreau's value entirely on his term then completely ignored Risto's. You then claimed your decent prospect is one of the best in the leagueand has elite player potential.

Believe what you want, but I'll stick with my original take. If Kaprizov was/is considered a blue chip prospect at 22-23, then so would Ruots. Feel free to look at Kap's points in KHL season and compare with Ruots in Liiga. Of course, KHL is a better league but there are certainly comparisons to be made. Of course I know Ruots is not going to be as good as Kap, but I do envision him to be a 40-50 point player if he reaches his ceiling, therefore he is a top 6 forward and usually prospects with a great chance to reach that are dubbed "blue chip" but you are allowed to have a different definition of the term

The KHL is a much better league than Liiga FYI. Also I am fully aware of how Ruots was doing with Ilves as Valimaki (the best defense in the league at the time and Calgary's prospect) was on his team. That did not however make Valimaki a blue chip prospect, it made him a very solid prospect.

Your statement on your expectations for Ruotsalainen are also semi-contradictory. You say his ceiling is 40-50 points but also say he has a great chance to reach that ceiling. Very few players ever reach their projected ceiling and 40-50 points is definitely a reach when it comes to blue-chip prospects.
