Description
First Trade was part of the deadline move with Taylor Hall.

2nd move is a move with Seattle, trading them a 3rd and Bryson to not take Asplund or Thompson, and making them take Miller who in himself will hold value and a decent cap hit. Bryson has showed he can play this year with the Sabres and would be a good young player for Seattle, as well gain draft capital. I think Seattle would be intrigued to take both Miller and Bryson as Seattles AGM drafted and traded for both of them. I think it may need to be another late round pick to make this happen.

3rd move is moving Risto to Philly in a team I could see trying to make moves to try and make one last attempt to win with this group. Having Myers and Braun as the only 2 RHD signed into next year, Risto could slide right into the top 4 and play good minutes on either side of special teams. I could see this going either way, a team over paying for him or the Sabres giving him away. I thought a 2nd and 4th could be a realistic return for him, but the main point is really the 2nd.

4th move is to Calgary who is all over the place this season and im not sure how big or little they are trying to shake things up. Mangiapane is someone I am hoping they could be open to moving if they got a good offer, so I sent a late 2nd, a 3rd and Pekar who I see with a ceiling as a gritty bottom 6 forward that can play on the PK and bring some energy without being a plug but will never wow you or put up insane numbers. I think this could get the job done if they are open to gaining more draft capital/prospects instead of a roster swap.

For the free agent signings I dont think the Sabres are going to draw any big names this offseason unless they over pay a ton. For the free agents i did sign, I think I still gave them a little over market value to get them to sign. For Merril I think just over 2 mil for a solid defensive d man is a pretty good price for both sides and double what he made this season. For Vatanen I think 3.2 is a bit of an over payment for his skill set but with the lack of RHD on the market I could see him making over a million more than what hes getting this year by testing the market. Danault is coming off a down year and once after turning down a bigger deal last season, I think he will cash in somewhere else with a change of scenery being best for both sides. 4 is a number I was comfortable with even tho based off last season that could be high, I think overpaying to make sure you get your guy and banking he has a bounce back year as well.

Resignings

Dahlin looks like he will get a bridge deal before they make up their mind on cashing in.
Joki looks like him old self and I think they should take the chance of signing him now to a more team friendly deal with more term, although I could see his contact like this top out around 4.2
McCabe coming off an injury I think will hurt his market a bit and the Sabres will be able to keep him and I think 4.1 is a good price for him with 3 years.

Borgen showed he is an NHL defenseman but because he got hurt i am not sure of what his price tag will be. I went with what I think will be the absolute max for him and gave him an extra year.

Almost forgot the goalies, Raanta is crush this offseason to be the next starter if they cannot keep Ullmark who I see going for around the same price range or maybe even more. I have zero clue on the goalie market so this price could also be way off, but thats why we have 2 extra to play with.

Back up can be anyone I dont see them breaking the bank with this move so I went with who my first choice would be.

Mitts and Asplund both have had "break in year" this year so both will get NHL deals next year, and I think they will be shorter more so prove it deals while taking the chnace that they can out value their contracts.

Samson is the 2nd best forward on this team and the best when Eichel is out. Hes proven time after time he is a great player and deserves to finally be payed like one.

Boston declines. But i think they do make a big push for Eichel in the offseason before free agency. Doubt it happens, but they try.

I think Buffalo would sit eichel in the press box for 5 years before trading him to boston

Mangiapane is a legit top 6 forward, I can't imagine he's available and definitely not for a package like that
