If the only reason Zona is considering moving Garland is to not have to pay him what he is awarded in arb and cut payroll, why would they bring in debrusk who makes just as much as Garland will next year?

It’s a lateral move that does not make sense for either team.

I had Croix Evingson being the next Nelson Nogier. 😁

Definitely need a Kraken placeholder for the AGMs.

Idk why they never gave Nogier a chance, I'm sure he could be a 3rd pair/PK dman.

Should not sign Savard to that contract. That 5M is mostly going to be earmarked for McAvoy on his next contract in 1 more year.

Maybe Arizona looks at it this way. They would have to pay Garland about the same as DeBrusk so that is a wash $ wise and they could get a young D ready to step in next year and play on a rookie deal and cost control for a few years after. Just not sure Boston wants that deal.

They’d be far more interested in picks and players on ELC. 0therwise they just hold.

They really should have pushed OEL harder and taken what they could from Van or Bos rather than try to recoup max value.

Arizona only has OEL and Chychrun signed for next year and they need to expose one d who is under contract for next year. It won't be either of them. Maybe Moore to them before expansion draft with some retain. Do they look at OEL after expansion draft?
