How Does This Feel Wild Fans

Team: 2021-22 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2021
Published: Apr. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Spitballing some ideas for trading Matt Dumba so that Minnesota can go 7-3-1 for Seattle. Trade made prior to the expansion draft so that Minnesota can protect Foligno, Greenway and Hartman in addition to the two NMCs and Eriksson Ek and Fiala. Qualifying exposures: Rask and Sturm, Soucy, and one of the goaltenders. Exempt: Allison, Boldy, Kaprizov and Rossi.

Philadelphia will obviously be looking to upgrade their defense and has numerous forward prospects that should be interesting to Minnesota. Jay O'Brien (right-handed C Boston College sophomore) is an alternative to Allison, but is further away from the NHL; Allison should be ready next season. The Flyers probably won't part with Morgan Frost, Bobby Brink or Tyson Foerster.

I don't see the Wild doing this trade. The value is fair, but we don't need more RW. We've got to find a way to get a C1/C2 player coming back. I'd even consider Frost + 4th/5th in return given the market and the expansion draft.

If you'd rather give prospects or new guys, then it would likely be a couple of guys with center potential and a 1st/2nd pick. We can afford to wait one or two years for a new guy to really hit with Rossi and Boldy still in the pipeline.

Thanks for the input, guys. As you can see from my Team Explanation, I thought you all had a higher opinion about Frost than Allison, who I personally think is one of those below-the-radar guys that is going to surprise a lot of people next year. Good luck!

So 2 games is a pretty small sample size, I hope he does end up like a Hartnell though. And Honestly, the Wild probably want Frost or Patrick given both are NHL ready. I know Frost’s sample size is also pretty small but I really like what I’ve seen, the guy has got the speed and playmaking that we crave so badly. So fingers crossed we’re both right and everybody gets what they want.

I agree that two games is a small sample size looking back at Frost's first two games it looked like he was going to fit in perfectly with his nice goal on Bobrovsky. But when Allison was drafted he was always the game who had a plus shot was bigger and more of a power forward. Right now this team lacks a shoot first power forward type and has plenty of playmakers in an ideal world I would rather keep both Frost and Allison as I think they both will have solid NHL careers I just think Frost is the more valuable piece for teams outside of the organization I don't see either of G or Coots leaving after next season so Allison who's a winger just fit better in the long term plan IMO especially since they seem to refuse to try Frost at wing.

That definitely makes sense. Giroux will likely move to the wing sooner or later but he’s still gonna be a top 6 guy for some time. Obviously they’d like to keep Frost but he plays a fast transition game that should fit with Fiala, both guys are fast and creative and I like that combo with a two way winger. I know Frost has a small sample size as well but over his 20 games, his possession metrics are as you expect and that’s a big plus for me.

FWIW, the NHL needs more guys like Allison. That water bottle pic is amazing, you add Dumba to that room and people will be having fun.

Water bottle pic and his celly after he scored are both great and you really get a sense of his personality
