** If we could get healthy & that is a huge "IF" with this Fragile / soft team......

IMO, we have as good as chance as anyone to go far this playoff 'BUT' Tanev has to absolutely be healthy to bring his speed, energy, & ability to make a big hit (not the standard Pens Hit/Hug)
- I hope that not getting 1 physical type player at TDL means that Tanev will be back.

I would keep Tanev with Blueger and ZAR. Being he is only coming back during the playoffs, don’t think it would be a good idea to put him on a line with player(s) he hasn’t really played with. Plus can keep his ice time down a little more.

this team has to play Zohorna. I don't think there is any question of that. It's just a different game when he's on the ice. These guys who are 6'2 and think they are hard asses just don't want a piece of a guy who's 6'6 225

Everyone love a big man but Zahorna is an objectively worse hockey player than the 12 forwards in the lineup already. It’s hockey, the game isn’t decided by who is taller

If all you looked at was the singularity of the player this would be true. But look at team CAN at the world cup. They picked the 12 best forwards and lost.
At some point you have to build a team capable of doing certain things. Like parking down low on the net, creating space for your other players, laying hits and fighting for a puck on the boards.
You can say what you will it's not like the kid didn't produce. He did. He's got two goals and 2 apples in 7 games and is a +4 on the ice.
This idea that he's a bad hockey player is just pure BS. He's effective.

Look at team USA at the olympics. The didn’t pick the 12 best forwards and lost.

I’ll take the best players any time, any day. That’s not a slight on Zahorna, he’s just not as good as the guys ahead of him.

and the talent balance between team CAN and team USA is huge. It's no wonder they lost. Their was never going to be an equal team there.

Who are you taking out of the lineup for Zahorna? Erod? After the way he’s been playing? What kind of awful locker room management would that be? What sort of message does that send to the boys?

who's going to be better for you on the ice when it comes to the playoffs. 5'10 Erod or 6'6 Zohorna. That's the kind of message it sends. You need those big bodies.
There are just realities to playoff hockey. At some point you have to be able to help out. Battle the boards, play a heavy game. ERod is not going to help you.
These current games mean nothing. Scoring goals on NJ doesn't mean ****.
But being able to give some pushback and having that on the roster is more important than a replaceable winger.
This team has no lack of skill guys. It does have a lack of guys who can help provide a net front guy and give some pushback.
