They'll probably protect Schulz and try to lose Dillon.

I figured this could be another alternative, but I think it would cost more to make them take Dillon over Vanecek. Unless they lose Jensen, which is not ideal either.

Schultz has been really good for us this year, and Jensen hasn't been able to play the top four role when given the opportunity in year's prior. I know he's thrived with Laviolette, but I'd still be surprised to see it play out where he gets protected over Schultz. I think that's why we resigned TVR, to be the third pairing RHD so we can lose the Jensen contract.

I'd probably agree with you about Jensen's contract before this season. He's been playing pretty well so far, and I think he could really thrive in a role with Orlov. They've skated together as a pairing for 103:52 of TOI and have put up 57.06 CF%, 59.31 FF%, 76.92 GF%, and 68.29 HDCF%. It's worth a look, and would probably make the pairings Dillon - Carlson, Orlov - Jensen, and Chara - Schultz (who've also had pretty good numbers together this season). Unfortunately, Dillon's best pairing is with Carlson.
