Unless he signs an extension prior to expansion, Bruins are not protecting Rask. If SEA took Zboril and not Lauzon or Smith I'd be ecstatic

I didn't realize Vladar could be protected. I'll change Rask to Vladar.

Sup dude

Here's my comments:

LA should go 7-3-1. LA got new fowards to protect and those Dmen aren't even that good.

Brown get protected over Tierney for sure.

I think Dunn get traded before the Draft.

Winnipeg is very high on Stanley. I like the bold choice though.

IMO Gauthier get protected over Blackwell.

I can't believe you would pick a career ending Giordano over "2C" Backlund.

Idk if Clague is worth giving up on that early. Those new forwards aren’t really that much more valuable either.

Disagree. Tierney has a much clearer role at NHL level for the Senators.

I feel like Dunn has been trade bait forever at this point, lol. Chances are he will get moved but he’s the guy you expose, as opposed to Faulk.

Logan Stanley probably has a higher ceiling than Dylan DeMelo. If Winnipeg is smart they’ll protect Stanley.

Gauthier has been a healthy scratch for about two weeks and counting. As a Ranger fan I can confirm he’s almost guaranteed to be exposed at this point.

Completely agree

Could be wrong here cause I don't think Gambrell is outside the realm of possibilities, but I think the Sharks protect him. He's proven himself pretty valuable despite the lack of potent scoring.

let's dig a little more.

You went for excluding Clague automaticaly, but what makes Walker worthy of a protection spot?

Tierney is a 3.5M 3rd line center one year away from UFA. Brown is a top 10 draft pick on his ELC. OTT is going to protect the cheap labor with potential first,it's their business model. BTW, way to many players named Brown. They should cap that.

If you are a rangers fan, can you talk about Howden? Seattle will be hungry for RFAs centers with potential. I could see Seattle picking him over Gauthier just because he plays center...

Why would Seattle pick Gio? He’s 37 years old and not great anymore you are rescuing Calgary.

I'll admit it's been awhile since I last discussed, but Kings fans have told me they wanted to protect Walker (I personally think it's a split between him and Clague for the last protection spot if LA goes 7-3-1, but that was the gist I got, hence why I've continued to go with 4-4-1 for them.

That's definitely a valid point from a management perspective, but Logan Brown has barely gotten a chance to make an impact for the Senators. In addition, Shane Pinto has just arrived for Ottawa and he's deservedly ahead of Brown. That should make Brown expendable whereas Tierney could become trade deadline bait for the Sens in 2021-22.

As of now I actually have the Rangers protecting Brett Howden. Now many Rangers fans, including myself, see Julien Gauthier as the better player. But the reason I would rather protect Howden is actually because of a third player: Colin Blackwell. We're pretty much forced to expose him at this point, in order to satisfy exposure rules. Because Gauthier already has ties to Ron Francis, who drafted him as the Hurricanes GM, I'm confident that the Kraken would take Gauthier over Blackwell. I can't say the same for if the Kraken would take Howden over Blackwell though.

I don’t know Blackwell, but he looks like a late bloomer like Iafallo. Like I said before, dont underestimate Seattle's will to get deep at center.

As for Gauthier, I dont want to bash on a fellow Quebecer, but I smell a bust. Some kids are so gifted they never learn the work ethics of a professional.

I picked Giordano for the experience and because the center depth on this team is good. I should change it to Kylington

Not an LA specialist but protecting Brown, Lemieux and Grundstrom sounds better than one of Walker/Clague. Bottom line, LA has so little to offer...

I just dont like Henrique, neither does Anaheim lol. Backlund is a better all around player.

He is not the player he used to be, like Vatanen...

Since it looks like Manson is getting shopped to protect Mahura instead, Ghule or Fleury would be logical choices.

I doubt Manson gets moved based on the ridiculous asking price
