Description

This is honestly just me messing around with a possible continuation of the Blue Jackets selling. I don't think they move their top 2 D or Atkinson to remain slightly competitive, but clearing the logjam of contracts after that for younger guys who can try and earn minutes might work. I also opted not to try and trade Jenner, considering he's a veteran leader who the fans like and if they do decide to move him he's on an expiring contract.

Not sure of my value judgments in the trades. Domi and Kerfoot both had promise but aren't performing - Domi might work out as a gritty 3C on Toronto plus you know Domi legacy. Kerfoot gets more minutes and opportunity like he used to on the Avs.

Laine is a sign and trade, and don't know if I've over or under-priced him. I also don't know if Winnipeg will let Appleton go, but Nyquist is a proven contributor and Winnipeg is in more of a win-now mode.

In the end, they've also allotted cap space if they want to re-sign Roslovic, Puljujarvi, and Werenski at the end of the season.

Think the biggest issue the Jackets have here is the lack of a 1C/2C. Roslovic has been great, so he is an option, beyond that, it's not doing much.

Jackets have the assets to get someone that can fill that void 100% (Zacha? Monahan? ) or pickup a contract that can fill a void (Gourde - who Torts may really like).....

Jackets are really in much better shape than many think. Young, ridiculously deep, and a bold GM. Moving for an impact centre is totally something that can be done without compromising what is there.

I’d never make that trade for Laine. Edmonton doesn’t need his poor attitude Tippett benches people more than Torts and they don’t have the cap to resign him.

If Appleton doesn't get picked by Seattle in the expansion draft I can see the Jets keeping him for a while. Copp will be a UFA after the 2021-22 season and Appleton can be a cheaper replacement if Copp decides to go to the market.

Think a Donato + True + mid round pick for Elvis is a deal I would consider as DW, but yeah no thank you on Korpisalo and no thank you to trading Balcers for any goaltender with the way he has played this season and shown to be a solid middle 6 winger that is not out of place playing top line minutes.

1) Slight fix to your comment.
2) I recommend against this game; I'd feel bad if I was even indirectly responsible for folks drinking themselves to death.
