Why trade away Engvall for almost nothing when he's a decent enough depth option who's cheap?

I don't particularly like the idea of trading away Nylander but that's just my opinion

If were getting rid of a bad contract in Kerfoot why do we just pick up a new one in paying Foligno 3.5?

Based on recent free agent signings Hyman will be in the 4.5 range, saying that we have to do everything we can not to let him walk.

If Nylander is traded, it makes more sense to get a player with term. That's not a good trade for the leafs as Rackell could leave the next year. And he's not better than Nylander. Try Comtois over Rackell before the leafs even consider.

You really think if Bozak is a good 3C he signs 900,000?

SJ sure as hell ain't the team that's giving you a 2nd for Dermott.

    Why is that?
I agree at this point Dermott probably won't get a second round pick (Siginthaler got a 3rd), but San Jose seem to me like a team that would want Dermott.

As an Anaheim guy with pretensions towards honesty, it's hard for me to come up with Nylander trades that are fair. Trevor Zegras, Jamie Drysdale and our 2021 first are untouchable, and John Gibson, expansion-draft-exempt Max Comtois and our 2022 first only slightly less valuable. After that, it's hard to imagine what pieces would aggregate to something that might be intelligent for the Maple Leafs. I suppose that if you're going to trade Nylander, Troy Terry (who's been our best and most promising forward for the past month) ought to be going back, and if you're on the "all-in win-now" train for 2021-2022, you'd be entitled to both of our expendable rentals (Rakell and Manson). And I'm still not sure that's a great deal for Toronto.
