This whole trade is a huge mess. But as a Wild fan, I can say that we are not interested in Kopitar. He is great but old. If we are trying to contend for long, he is not the answer.

We ve got our own centre prospects who need some developping. I think a couple of years of Kopitar is the answer to our issues.

Wild aren't trading for an old player. Guerin has made this clear.

Wild aren't trading for an older 30's player earning 10 mil, or more with nmc.

On top of that to think wild would give up a 1st round pick, Natt dumba, & Alexander khovanov for an old player is just makes no sense

LA receives Dumba and prospects for Byfield (fair) a 1st for a 1st (not negligible but not much) A free Hartman and an elite 24 year old for a star 33 year old who is overpayed. The amount of things you would have to add from LA's side to this deal would be more than double what they are currently losing.
Min overpays for Eichel and ends up with Kopitar somehow.

The league would veto this trade because there is now way it would be legal to steal from Minnesota this badly, the GM would have to be in on a plan to help LA and jump ship.

If that is the trade you want to post then it's a significant underpay for Eichel but otherwise fine.

Is it worth it to overpay that much for a couple of years of Kopitar?
