I would rather give up a Schneider and another piece than a Kravtsov because then with both Kakko and Kravtsov gone our RW is depleated

I wouldn’t gamble on Eichel now that he has major neck issues. I’m keeping our depth with is soon going to be unmatchable

or, we could not blow it up and simply improve our goaltending and either hire or retain a competent coach while welcoming back one of the best players in the NHL

has no one paid attention over the past 3 weeks?

major neck issues?

you mean a procedure that has a 6 week recovery timetable?

but hey, if it stops all these eichel trades, sure, he will never not be in a neck brace

Herniated disks are serious and surgery is often not the best option. I wouldn't be trading for him now unless its a serious bargain, especially considering he has to be elite for 10M.

I also think that if Buffalo trades him, Lafreniere is the return, not Kakko. Then again, they did trade Hall for a 2nd...

As a Leaf fan I'd rather have Liljegren over Rist any day.

Hall had a NMC and was pretty terrible for his entire stay in Buffalo

Eichel does not have a NMC, is excellent, is a center, is 5 years younger than hall and under contract for 5 years.

What point do you think you are making with that Hall point? its not even apples to oranges, its apples to legos

Herniated discs are a very common injury in the NHL and guys return just fine. It's not that serious of an injury.

> Then again, they did trade Hall for a 2nd...

Were you expecting more from a guy with a NMC who wasn't playing good?

Lots of people have herniated discs. Not a lot have them surgically repaired. Surgically repaired (insert body part) is fine, and will heal great and the player will be back to normal or better. Surgically repaired disc herniation... no. Never going to be the same unless you can be confident the cause of the herniation is not going to occur again.

Im surprised you didn't see the point I was making. This Buffalo GM has a short history of moves to critique but so far the value returned does not equal or exceed the value returning. THAT was my point with the Hall remark. I won't be surprised, that if they trade Eichel, the return will be underwhelming. I thought it was pretty obvious.

the situations are not at all comparable. Hall would only waive for boston.

Buffalo's GM traded Hall for a 2nd and Bjork. If that is the only offer you don't take it. You threaten to keep him. Hall did NOT have leverage. Think about it, if he stays in Buffalo what do his contract offers look like next year? Absolute garbage, maybe 6M? No Adams didn't make a good decision. I threaten to keep him if I am the GM unless he opens up more trade options for me (as GM) and if he doesn't and Boston's offer doesn't improve then you keep him. As a new GM you cannot let yourself get pushed around.

Cool. Good luck signing players or trying to work with that agent ever again.

Meanwhile Boston moves on and makes a separate trade and signs hall for cheap in the offseason
