The only Eichel trades I would want

Created by: kedogs00
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2021
Published: Apr. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Chytil, Filip
  2. Georgiev, Alexandar
  3. Kakko, Kaapo
  4. Lundkvist, Nils [Reserve List]
  5. 2021 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
If this happens before the upcoming draft. If after, I would want 2022 first plus a 2nd or another prospect. Buffalo gets 2 top 6 players, Kakko at RW and Chytil at C/LW. I would much rather see him at C, but he needs to start winning some draws. You get a potential top 4 D man in Lundkvist and a back up goalie in Georgie.

I think the value is pretty fair, i think the in potential of these players it may be a slight overpay, but as of right now, this does not make the Sabres better right away IMO.
NYR
2.
BUF
  1. Byfield, Quinton
  2. Fagemo, Samuel
  3. Kempe, Adrian
  4. 2021 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Or switch out Byfield and Fagemo for Turcotte and Kaliyev.

Would also love to entertain the idea of adding a piece from BUF to acquire Roy as well.
LAK
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (BUF)

Rangers will pass on this. There is no point for giving up this much to get eichel. Kakko showed tremendous growth so far, Lundkvist is one of the best d not in the league yet, Chytil could be had but not with both of the above included. 1st in 2021 is all but guaranteed tbh.

The price rumored was the four first round picks. I think everyone would agree that #2 pick from two years ago that has shown growth is worth more than just a late round 1st. It’s very similar to a team trading two late firsts to try and move up to the top 3 in the draft. Value just doesn’t match

1 chytil drives play much better at C, and draws at that age are rarely a concern

2 Lundkvist is a potential top 2 not top 4

3 we decline anyway

I think your "swapped out" trade of Turcotte+Kaliyev+Kempe+1st is a very reasonable return for Eichel and I think the Kings would consider it. I don't think the Kings will trade Byfield, even if it's for Eichel.

I like Hughes, but I dont know if NJ has the assets to make a deal. I keep hearing NJ fans would rather have Hughes then Eichel anyway, so I didnt even bother.

Well yeah most NJ fans are delusional and overrate all of their players. How would they not have the assets to make a deal? Hughes is better than any piece you have listed here, + a high 1st in 2021, likely high picks in 2022, 2023, high end prospects in Holtz, Mercer, Foote, decent roster players in Severson, Zacha, Wood?

I obviously have a bias but come on now.

That’s fair
Jersey does have the pieces if their offer starts with Hughes

Your proposal with NyR blows imo, the pieces aren’t “high end” enough- & at least 1 of them has to be
Kakko- not for sure a top line player, looks more like a RW2
Chytil- 3C quality guy, not top6
Lundqvist- could be top pair, or could be top4- too soon to tell
Georgiev- low end starter at best imo
2021 1st- not a great piece in a weak draft

Anything with the Rangers has to start with Lafreniere imo,
and even then.... teams like LA or Jersey, etc etc will be able to make better offers giving us back a high end Center as the main piece

The Kings offer is more reasonable imo
