I wonder if a team would take the Tanev contract for a 2nd round pick instead of trading Pettersson for ugh JR taking on the Matheson contract strikes again ☠

I actually really like Tanev. He definitely is overpaid, but his playstyle is so good. Quick skater, physical player, can put up points. Really valuable to our team.

Kings aren't giving up a 2nd for Pettersson. He's at best a #5 defenseman on their team and they'd just lose him to Seattle.

Trade made after Seattle. They were interested in adding a dman who can play top 4 minutes and who is under the age of 25.

Pettersson isn't better than Anderson or Bjornfot. They're looking for someone like Werenski, not someone like Pettersson.

Anyways, the point was that I think we move him this offseason.

No team is trading a defensemen like Werenski though lol. MP is the best as it gets in terms of available defensemen...especially available young defensemen.

I'm sure that's probably true. LA has no need for a player like Pettersson though, so there's no reason to try and fit a square peg in a round hole. If they can't acquire a high-end LHD, they'll stand pat.

I don`t majorly disagree with anything here but this offseason all depends on how they do in the playoffs. Flame out in round 1 or 2 and you`re gonna see a hell of a lot more changes IMO.

Burke and Hextall are going to make their mark on the team this summer.

I wouldn`t be shocked if Zucker goes to Seattle but man that would suck. Another great player comes to Pitt and doesn`t work out.
