So I'm trying to figure out how suspensions work and the money lost this season because it's not an 82 game season for the purposes of a discussion i'm having. So:
Edler was suspended 3 games.
(b) for "repeat" offenders (second or more incidents requiring game suspension determined pursuant to Section 18.15(d)), Player to forfeit one (1) NHL Game's Paragraph 1 NHL Salary and Bonuses, but not including Performance Bonuses, for each Regular Season Game lost (1/number of Regular Season Games for each Regular Season Game suspended);
So for the purposes of discussion we will say he's a repeat offender. I don't know if they are classifying it as that but to understand how it works we will say he is.
Would the calculation be $6,000,000/82=fine
or $5,000,000/82=fine
or $6,000,000/52=fine
or $5,000,000/52=fine

This is just a guess but wouldnt it be $5,000,000*3/56=$267,857.14?

Edit: never mind it was 2 games not 3, so 5M*2/56

2 games is the hit so 5,000,000*2/56 = $178,571.43 would be my guess based on the math.

Yeah, originally there was a report from the NHLPA that it was 3 but I guess that was a typo.
