What interest does Toronto have in the Sedins? Toronto wont be ready for Cup runs for roughly 5 years or more. Sedins prob wont be around then. Losing a high pick and Nylander alone would be dumb let alone your concoction of utter stupidity

I sense a little Habs bias right there. squinty smile But I agree with your reasoning wholeheartedly.

Haha! Love the "concoction of utter stupidity" phrase! I obviously wasn't making a hyper-realistic proposal here, just playing with cap space and values. To me the key components to the deal are actually Nylander and Tanev, who would be an excellent partner for Reilly or Gardiner for the next 4 years and beyond. The two years of half-priced Sedins is the bonus scoring depth that the Leafs would need if they actually wanted to contend in the next couple years. Maybe Van is getting too much with Dermott and the 1st in there as well, but I doubt that the 1st would be a high one with this roster.
