Calling All Blackhawks Fans

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The way I see it (provided Toews and Nylander come back) at least two people have to go from this roster. Here is what I would like to see in my fantastical mind.

SEATTLE: DEHAAN, incentive of Kampf

DeBrincat-Dach-Kane
Kubalik-Toews-Hinostroza
Strome-Gaudette-Hagel
Nylander-Suter-Connolly

However, this means that Carpenter, Hardman, Kurashev, and other prospects are out as well as any FA potentials. Who is your Blackhawks top 12 forwards for next season? Who do you see leaving in the next 2 seasons as players like Kurashev, Hagel, Reichel, Borgstrom, Barratt, Slavin, and others push into the NHL roster? And also, tell me your furture (next 3 years) blue line

not a hawks fan but I can see a Connolly buy out if he doesn't do much for the rest of the season

I'd let Seattle take whomever they're going to take. I doubt Kampf will need to be a sweetener...NOR do I think Seattle wants another player. They're about to get 32 "free" players. If anything they'll prefer a pick over a player IMO. Anyway...Let them take whomever. I think it'll still be DeHaan. He's more talented than anyone else CHI is going to leave exposed.

As for the lines, It's probably the best that can do. It's not enough to compete, but so much of this hinges on Toews. A.) Can he come back? B.) What player are we getting back? This team needs a #1C (Toews might solve this) and a true #1 Power winger. We don't have that on this team. Debrincat is more physical than anyone gives him credit for, but he's still not a power winger. Kubalik is close and on a good contract, but he's can't be the only one. The Hawks need 1 more TRUE top 6 winger and a good one too. There aren't really many options there either. Hall, Ovi, Hoffman to a lesser extent. Ovi's not going anywhere. Who knows about Hall/Hoffman. @MakingHistory No Drouin can go to the moon before we want him.

Doubtful IMO. They have plenty of cap space to hide $2.75M for 2 years. That'll be easier for the Hawks than prolonging the pain.

Ultimately, depending on the performance of Borgstrom and Nylander, I think Strome and Kubalik may get pushed out. I've said this on multiple threads here, but its not that I want to trade Kubalik. If we end up doing bad in the next couple of seasons as well, any forward we may take in the top 10 of those rounds will end up pushing Kubalik out in the future anyway. So do you waste a couple of years in the middle without being truly productive and also not getting a high end draft pick? If we aren't going to be competitive in the next 3 or 4 years, trading Kubalik this offseason is probably the best option

I wanna see Chicago trade for guys that need a change of sceneries. Like Sanford for example

Like Gaudette was a good pickup. He played well last year but bad this year. Yes, add more cheap forwards that might break out

Kurashev is only 21, hes slowed down recently, but I find it hard that the team would move on from him unless he really sucks next year, even if he does, they might just choose to give him top line AHL center minutes to rebuild some confidence. Carpenter is a great 4th liner and Id be surprised if he isn't a 4th liner for the hawks next season. A 3 year contract for Hinostroza seems like an overreaction. Him in Chicago is a great fit, but I would find it weird if he got a contract with that much term here. Strome doesnt exactly look like he has a spot on this team for the future. He hasn't been able to find any level of consistency throughout the lineup. I need to see more from Connolly for me to think he has any future in Chicago, he scored a goal his first game but hes been invisible when hes gotten on the ice and hasn't shown us what we know he's capable of quite yet. My hope for the blue line is that we can find a quick-footed, left-handed, defensively-responsible defenseman to play with Boqvist, a player like Keith was in his heyday, Im a huge fan of Carson Lambos in the draft, but if its not him, I would like to swing a trade for a guy like Hampus Lindholm. I like the idea of Beaudin alongside Murphy on the second pair for the future. On the third pair, I like the ability of Mitchell and Kalynuk to be a mobile puck moving 3rd pair of the future, but I still think Alex Vlasic and Wyatt Kaiser are good defenseman college prospects for the next 3 years.

Very sad but likely true. Considering there has been no update and he has not showed up for anything this season, hasn't been at any games, he's probably done with hockey. Crappy way to go but appreciate his contributions and leadership to this team

I agree, Strome is good and I really like him but I don't know where he fits. If Toews is done, maybe he stays but it's tight. A nice move would be like going to Minnesota and getting Jordan Greenway for Dylan Strome or maybe send him to Columbus for Domi or Atkinson
