Vlasic can waive his NMC for the expansion draft. Burns, well if it posted it can be talked about. What is Seattle's motivation to select him, as opposed to spending 8m on a good UFA?

I think Balcers gets more and I’m not a big fan of Edler and Reimer. Otherwise all good.

Oh also I think we get a 2nd out of Donato at best. 1st is a bit ambitious.

They have to expose two forwards that meet minimum requirements. Couture, Meier, Hertl, Kane, Labanc are the 5 eligible names now.

With this protected list how much Balcers makes is Seattle's problem. He's their pick.

Is this a different Donato that was traded for a 3rd last year???

Donato may net a low B prospect and a 3rd. Doubt any team will give you a 2nd and certainly not a 1st

Nah Sharks are definitely protecting Balcers Wilson thinks very high of him. We’re keeping him. One of Donato/Gambrell get exposed to Seattle.

And what do you mean with Donato?

For the reason of the extra year of term alone I'd almost recommend exposing Couture also given the higher likelihood of him getting selected

That last year of 8M$ alone could be brutal

Reckon they'll start contending again around then

The Donato that is being traded for a 1st. Is he a different Donato that SJ traded a 3rd for in the off season??

Still don't understand why Ottawa would waive Balcers at the beginning of the season...

My view of the Minny trades over last offseason is that the Sharks were offered Donato at a slightly reduced price if they took Dubnyk as well. Donato hasn’t been an elite talent or anything, but he’s on 35-40 point pace playing in the bottom-6 of a bad team. He’s played better with SJ than MIN (at least in terms of point totals). Like I said earlier, I think a 1st is too much, but a 2nd isn’t reaching too far imo.

Not sure why OTT put Balcers on waivers it was really ignorant. One of the few bright spots for us this season though so I’m glad they did so. Was the least they could do after destroying us with the Karlsson trade lol

Vlasic can waive his NMC for the expansion draft. Burns, well if it posted it can be talked about. What is Seattle's motivation to select him, as opposed to spending 8m on a good UFA?

Will Vlasic waive tho; we never know. And exposing Burns is better for the Sharks if he can be traded to Seattle.

Ive had the Burns to Seattle discussion a million times and I know its unlikely but most people really dont even give the argument a chance; so I can if youd like ('d just go back a month or so and copy and paste my comment). I acknowledge its unlikely but I'd say the chances are more like 40/60 (40 being the chances of happening); where people often act likes its a 1/99.

I think Balcers gets more and I’m not a big fan of Edler and Reimer. Otherwise all good.

Oh also I think we get a 2nd out of Donato at best. 1st is a bit ambitious.

Donato may net a low B prospect and a 3rd. Doubt any team will give you a 2nd and certainly not a 1st

The Donato that is being traded for a 1st. Is he a different Donato that SJ traded a 3rd for in the off season??

Still don't understand why Ottawa would waive Balcers at the beginning of the season...

Donato has improved a lot since his acquisition. A first is super ambitious and I know that lol - its just a hope we can get another first.

They have to expose two forwards that meet minimum requirements. Couture, Meier, Hertl, Kane, Labanc are the 5 eligible names now.

We have exposed more than two forwards, so I guess thanks for the comment??

Likely just didn't fit in to their plans or belief.

For the reason of the extra year of term alone I'd almost recommend exposing Couture also given the higher likelihood of him getting selected

That last year of 8M$ alone could be brutal

Reckon they'll start contending again around then

wouldnt happen, id say thats actually like a 0.1% chance - I think the Sharks will have trouble exposing burns internally, let alone their captain.
