Canucks fancy work

Created by: BigShoots
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2021
Published: Apr. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team would actually be competitive.

I think I'd even be willing to add to the Boone Jenner deal from Canucks end.

Also could take the 3rd off from Buffalo if that is a deal breaker.

Giving up too much to take Erikssons contract. Not giving enough for Seattle to take Myers.

We're getting Boone Jenner a quality, young 3c in the Eriksson deal though. You may be correct that it could take more to rid ourselves of Myers. I think I'd go as high as a 2nd and b prospect.

If I’m CBJ, I’d take that, particularly if the trade happens after his signing bonus is paid for the season.. Only reason i think they wouldn’t is because if they make this trade, that is as sure a sign as any that we’re going full rebuild.

There is no reason a fan should possibly care about a signing bonus though right. Rebuilds can happen quickly in todays NHL, more like reload.

Fans, no...but to management, that stuff matters.

Unless you’re one of the top-revenue teams in the league, being able to save a few million in actual salary, even if the cap hit remains the same, is a big deal. Particularly in light of the financial hit most teams took this past year.
