Expecting both WSH and WPG to sell low on samsy/ehlers I mean... just doesn't seem possible ultimately... they're both top valuable/good

    Ehlers and MacKinnon together 😵

My brain can't even visualize that without going 🤯

    So a top 6 winger a top 4 dman a top 4 d prospect and a 2nd isn’t even close for a career 0.32 ppg playoff producer?

So you traded Kadri for pennies on the dollar so you could sign Danault to block Newhoo gotcha

Newhook isn’t going to be ready for the 2C job right away. Even MacKinnon played 3C or 2nd line winger his first season. Kadri has regressed a bit this year. Bring in an elite defensive play driving C to play 2C for a year or 2 and let Newhook take his time fitting in. Then Danault can move to 3C.

Playoffs aside, Ehlers is far and away one of the most underrated players. The package does little to wow the Jets. Bura, he’s a decent middle 6 guy, never hit 50 points. Graves a good piece, but Winnipeg needs RHD, so having another LHD is pointless unless your offering Byram which I highly doubt. And the 2nd 3 drafts away... none starter. For Ehlers to be traded you’d need to wow the hell out of Winnipeg with an offer. He’s practically an untouchable with what he brings to the Jets. Byram + 1st might make the Jets blink but doubt if they do it weighing all the factors.

Kadri’s contract runs through next season. Newhook should be ready to run 2C when it’s up then you don’t have a $5.75M 3C that is all sorts of ridiculous.

Playoffs aside? That’s when it matters most. You’re high as hell if you think he is worth Byram +1st he is a winger that disappears in the playoffs. That doesn’t get you a 19yr old top pairing dman that already has elite defensive metrics and will be a minute eating all around stud for the next decade. The Jets literally have nobody that the Avs would trade Byram and 1st for that includes Schiefle. Seriously ridiculous. I mean you really said playoff scoring aside and Byram +1. That’s funny. Not funny haha, funny kinda sad that you actually believe that.

That's fine, you can believe that, and I'm not saying that's what Ehlers is worth in terms of real value. But the Jets wont trade him for less than a package that completely blows them away. He's too valuable to the team and would garner a much better return from almost every other team. That garbage offer of Bura, Graves and a 2nd isn't close.

So a 2nd line winger, top 4 dman, a top d prospect and a 2nd is a garbage offer? All I believe is your statements are full of great exaggeration and hyperbole. It isn’t a garbage offer, if I’m the Jets do I accept it, maybe depends on how you feel about Helleson.

Of course you accept it, cause the Av's win the deal. If the Jets made that deal Winnipeg would riot and demand Chevyldayoff's head on a pike. Like i said, there's way better offers out there than that offer. It doesn't address their needs and makes the team worse.

I didn’t say I would accept it did I? What I didn’t do was call it a garbage offer, and rioting in the streets of WPG because they traded a guy who disappears in the playoffs, exaggerate much? What I can say is I would never make that trade if I were the Avs.

Honestly just gonna agree to disagree, its not a good offer for Winnipeg and you wont change my mind just like i wont change yours.

I don’t Care one way or the other. My contention is it isn’t a garbage offer which it isn’t. Those were your words not mine, you’re the one that blasted off into hyperbole over it suggesting Byram and a 1st was more suitable when that was more ridiculous. I honestly don’t care, because COL would never even offer up the OPS proposal for Ehlers.

I think the value presented is fair to Winnipeg, but I totally understand them rejecting it. That’s why this is a Yolo off-season post
