The only things I would change is the Hughes contract and the lines. I would give Hughes a 4 year deal then lock him up after that. For the lines, I would balance it out based on their playing styles

Yeah u might not be wrong. I just imagine his agent will use Nico's contract as a comparable and locking him up for the full 8 years might require a higher AAV. But I'd be plenty happy if he was cheaper.

If we sign Jack for 4 years after next season and Luke plays his first full pro season in '23 those two would both hit RFA status in 2026. Which would mean they will come up as RFA's at the same time Quinn comes to UFA. Maybe all 3 brothers agree to take a fair but discounted deal to try and win a cup together in NJ? 5x6 for each? I can dream.

Short term I'd have no problem giving Flower more. I'd be hesitant to go much higher on Hamilton since the deal is long term. Before last year I'd say he's due for a bigger payday than $8.4M but in a flat cap I'm not sure how many teams could possibly afford more than that. Maybe he goes shorter term deal like 3x9 in hopes that the next time around he'll still be in his prime and the cap situation may be better around the league.

I was saying we should sign Jack for 4 years because there is a chance he leaves in free agency when his deal is done. If we sign him for 4 years, we could sign him for 8 after that until he's 32. But you may be onto something about the Hughes brothers all coming to NJ....
