Let’s see one team has Makar, Girard, Toews, Byram, Graves, Johnson, Timmins, McDonald, Barron and Helleson, what they really need is another dman? Yeah the Avs decline.

I do agree that in a vaccum avs would decline this trade, but Bear is pretty good and his underlying numbers really align with what Avs line to do on the back end.
If EJ is physically done and Graves is selected in the XD its a tempting convo

Still think they decline but Bear would fit in nicely with that group

Not at the expense of their center depth not for a guy who is at best 3rd pairing.

EJ gets hurt on D....thats really it. Missing a few games is normal for 90% of the league. I wouldnt be worried about Avs D health, its not a concern IMO
If Bear was a lefty I wouldnt be interested, but him being a righty is tempting

Bear is more than a 3rd pairing guy. His numbers are solid xGF/60, xGA/60, xGF% ,CF%

If Edmonton trades him they are a poorly ran franchise letting a Dman that teams would love to get their hands on. Hes a puck moving machine who plays solid defense. You could put him with Girard on the 2nd pair and it would be lights out. Or put him with Byram and its lock down.

I don’t disagree with that, but in COL he is a 3rd pairing guy period. He’s the kind of guy you don’t even bother with because he is to good for 3rd pairing minutes but in COL he isn’t good enough for the top 4. Or in other words the ideal TDL rental for the Avs.

That is where you are wrong, he is good enough for top 4 role, 2nd pairing role. And I am not arguing his fot on the Avs, just as a player, you are really undervaluing him. Hes much better than you are stating
